A Kristallnacht Remembrance Film Screening
The evening of November 9, 1938, marked the beginning of Nazi‑instigated pogroms, or violent riots, against Jews living in Germany. Kristallnacht, the “Night of Broken Glass,” saw the destruction of thousands of homes, synagogues and Jewish‑owned businesses and tens of thousands of Jews arrested and sent to concentration camps.
The film reunites former Jewish inhabitants of Wetter that were forced to flee with current residents of the German town and explores their attempts to reconcile their shared past on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht.
What’s better than reading books? Singing, chanting and dancing to books! Stories such as Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, The Paper Dolls, I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More! and Barnyard Dance! will never sound the same after kids have sung and played instruments to accompany them.
