In 2005, the theme was “The Art of Storytelling: A Pan-Caribbean Experience”. Miami-Dade Public Library staff visited libraries in the Caribbean Basin and met with their professional colleagues from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, The Bahamas and Trinidad. A month later, the Caribbean partners visited our Library System, sharing their cultures and expertise with library staff. Among the various components of that year’s Family Festival was a Caribbean Book Fair, plus participating librarians, authors and storytellers from the Caribbean.
