YOUNG ADULT WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE WRITING WORKSHOP
SEPTEMBER 19 AT CORAL GABLES BRANCH LIBRARY!
– Register today for the first in a three-part series conducted by author Kekla Magoon! –
(MIAMI, SEPTEMBER 12, 2012) The Miami-Dade Public Library System is looking for teens, 13-18, to participate in its first of a three-part series of free workshops on creative writing. The first workshop – WordPlay – will teach participants how to find inspiration in the world around them and how to get started as a writer. It will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Coral Gables Branch Library – 3443 Segovia Street in Coral Gables. All workshops will be presented by award-winning, Young Adult author Kekla Magoon. Ms. Magoon is the recipient of the America Library Association's Coretta Scott King – John Steptoe Award for New Talent and is the author of The Rock and the River; Camo Girl; 37 This I Love (in no particular order); and Fire in the Streets. The workshop is made possible by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
