CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS: ENTER THE LIBRARY'S ANNUAL BOOKMARK CONTEST

(Miami, October 23, 2012) The Miami-Dade Public Library System is inviting artists, ages 6-12, to enter its annual bookmark contest for a chance to have their creation distributed throughout the Library System. This year's theme – Discover Florida's Natural Treasures @ your Library – helps to commemorate Florida's 500 years of history. The contest runs October 29 - November 17, 2012 and encourages children to create a bookmark that illustrates what they have learned about one of Florida's natural treasures during a visit to the library.

Entries will be judged on originality and neatness. The winning bookmark will be printed and distributed throughout all 49 branches. The winner will also receive a large basket of art supplies and an autographed football from the Miami Dolphins. Finalists will be recognized at a party which will be held at the Main Library, 101 W Flagler Street, on Saturday, December 8. Entry forms are available at all branches and here. Final date for submission is November 17. For more information, call 305.375.BOOK (2665).

The Bookmark Contest is made possible with the support of the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the Friends of the Miami‑Dade Public Library.
