MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM HELPING STUDENTS GET READY FOR BACK‑TO‑SCHOOL!

(MIAMI, AUGUST 2, 2012) – Now that it's time to get ready for a new school year, the Miami-Dade Public Library System wants to be a student's source for information and entertainment! Visit www.mdpls.org and search Databases and More for science project ideas; homework, SAT and other college entrance exams help; and information about important people and moments in history.

Throughout August, special health-related back-to-school programs will be presented where students of all ages will be able to explore culinary instruction with help from FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth) which teaches how to make healthy food choices and what makes a healthy snack. Book 'n Cookin will explain the new food pyramid and the necessary ingredients for a creating a balanced meal. To get everyone up and moving, the Library System is offering Zumba for Kids!

For details on these back-to-school programs and for a complete list of events and programs, visit www.mdpls.org and click on the Calendar of Events, or call 305.375.BOOK (2665).
