BLACK HISTORY MONTH TEEN PHOTO CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCED!
-Contest part of Black History Month Celebrations!-
(MIAMI, FEBRUARY 29, 2012) – – In celebration of Black History Month, the Miami-Dade Public Library System invited teens, 12-19, to enter its Teen Photography Contest where they were challenged to capture some aspect of African American architecture, art or lifestyle in Miami-Dade County. The winning photo, Africa in Her Eyes, was shot by Raimel Garcia from the California Club Branch Library. He will receive a Kodak EasyShare M575 digital camera courtesy of Pitman Photo Supply. Angie Perez from the Miami Lakes Branch took home second place for Uplifting Friendship and David Baptiste from the Main Library came in third place for Present Day.
