– Community leaders read to kids! –

(MIAMI, MARCH 23, 2012) – Since 1958, libraries around the nation have celebrated National Library Week as a way to commemorate the contributions of the nation's libraries and librarians. During this time, we recognize the value of libraries in providing educational, recreational and cultural opportunities to people of all ages.

This year’s theme, "You belong @ your library®" will be observed April 8-14, but the Miami-Dade Public Library System has expanded it to a two week-long celebration. Starting April 2nd, community leaders will visit library branches and read to children. Click here for the schedule of readers.
