MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM PRESENTS RETRACING OUR STEPS: A PHOTO JOURNEY THROUGH 100 YEARS OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA
(MIAMI, OCTOBER 27, 2011) – A series of historical photographs exploring the Republic of China’s development over the past century will be unveiled at the Main Library, 101 West Flagler Street on Friday, November 4th. Retracing Our Steps: A Photo Journey through 100 of the Republic of China openswith a reception at 6:30 p.m. and will be on display through January 12, 2012.
The Library System hosts the exhibition in partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami. Retracing Our Steps was developed by the Government Information Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to celebrate its 100th anniversary. These images illustrate the nation’s transformation and the blossoming of diversity, creativity and tolerance in the hundred years since the founding of the ROC. All aspects of life are on display: politics, the economy, education and culture, agriculture, technology and the environment, as well as social welfare.
The exhibition also helps to recognize the 2012 Art of Storytelling International Exchange Partner – Taipei Public Library in Taiwan. To RSVP for the reception, contact 305.375.5501.
