MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM CELEBRATES NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

Local officials read to kids!

Since 1958, libraries around the nation have celebrated National Library Week as a way to commemorate the contributions of the nation's libraries and librarians. During this time, we recognize the value of libraries in providing educational, recreational and cultural opportunities to people of all ages.

This year’s theme, "Create your own story @ the library®" will be observed April 10 -16, but the Miami-Dade Public Library System has expanded it to a two week-long celebration. Starting April 4, community leaders will visit library branches and read to children.
