Grand Finale of National Children’s Book Week
Miami, Fl -- National Children’s Book Week was celebrated at the Miami-Dade Public Libraries November 15 through 21. The theme for the 85th annual event was Let’s Book! Kids enjoyed learning of the wonderful world of children’s books as they attended author presentations such as Lisa McCourt’s, popular author of the best-selling series Chicken Soup for Little Souls. Fun included storyteller and cartoon character Arthur the Aardvark, a visit from Professor McGonagall for that brought stories, trivia and magic to Harry Potter fans, and bilingual storyteller Carrie Sue Ayvar.
A great incentive that encourages the kids to participate in the literacy program is the Library’s Bookmark Contest. All kids who demonstrated their best efforts will be recognized, in addition to Contest winners receiving their prizes, at the Grand Prize Party. So mark your calendars!
Main Library’s Auditorium, Saturday, December 11th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
