Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Global Awareness Series Presents HIV/AIDS 25 Years Later: Awareness and Resource Fair

(Miami, FL) On Saturday, December 2nd, Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Global Awareness Series presents: HIV/AIDS 25 Years Later, an Awareness and Resource Fair that commemorate the 25th anniversary since the first known report of the virus surfaced. From 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 101 West Flagler Street, patrons can learn about the effects of this global epidemic and its more promising future made possible through medical advancements, public awareness and education. Highlights of the fair include keynote speaker, Dr. Marilyn Volker, renowned sexuality educator,  Dr. Laurinus Pierre, founder and executive director for the Center of Haitian Studies and Orlando Taquechel, executive vice president of Project Management, Miami Beach Community Health Center.

This first in a series of lectures and workshops is presented through the Library System’s Global Awareness Series which endeavors to bring people up close to current issues that matter.
