Miami-Dade County, Fl – Book donations are needed for the Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library 7th Annual Book Sale, which will be held Thursday, November 29th through Sunday, December 2nd at the Main Library, 101 West Flagler St., in downtown Miami.
Fiction and non-fiction books, both hardcover and paperbacks, plus foreign language, art books, cookbooks and children’s books are in high demand. Magazines, encyclopedias and outdated textbooks are not needed. Books may be dropped off at any branch library.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and work during the sale. Community service hours will be given for students who volunteer to work, Please call 305-375-4776 or email friends@mdpls.org to volunteer.
The Friends’ Book Sale is one of South Florida’s largest donated books sale and last year raised nearly $36,000 to support value-added library programs such as the Art of Storytelling and the Children’s Bookmark Contest.

The Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library System is a nonprofit, charitable organization created in 1974 to promote library interests within the community; support volunteers in the local branches, and raise funds to sponsor library programming.
