Miami-Dade County, FL- Teens, ages 12-19, are invited to participate in the Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Teen Read Week’s,” Laugh Out Loud @ Your Library,” first-ever T-Shirt Design Contest.
Beginning August 24 through September 21, teens can submit one black and white design reflecting the “LOL @ Your Library” theme. The winner will receive an autographed Miami Dolphins football and have their design printed on t-shirts to be worn by all participants during the Miami Dolphins’ Word-A-Thons. Teen Read Week will be held October 14 -20 with a variety of activities including Miami Dolphins’ Word-A-Thons featuring past and current players. All teens will receive a USB flash drive just for participating, while supplies last.
Teen Read Week is a national literacy initiative aimed at teens, their parents, librarians, educators, booksellers and other concerned adults. Teen Read Week’s initiative is to encourage teens to "read for the fun of it.”
