Miami, Fl – In support to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami-Dade Public Library System is hosting several events at multiple branches to promote the School System’s new initiative, The Parent Academy. Information is attached. Locations, dates, and time are as follows:
August 13, 2005 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the following branches:
Main Library, North Dade Regional, Edison Center, Fairlawn, Homestead, South Dade Regional, Coconut Grove
August 20, 2005 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at:
Main Library, Coral Reef, Miami Beach Regional, West Dade Regional, Naranja, and Lemon City

Literary activities and an exciting authors’ series that has included authors Toni Simmons, Omar Tyree, and BeBe Campbell Moore, are also drawing students of all ages to the Library. Not to be missed is the upcoming September presentation of author Jo Manning, who will read from her new book, My Lady Scandalous: The Amazing Life and Adventurous Times of Grace Dalrymple Elliott, Royal Courtesan.The book is a recreation of the life and fast times of one of the British Georgian/Regency era’s most colorful characters. Thursday, September 15, 7:00 p.m., at the Miami Beach Regional Library, 227 22nd Street, MB.
