Miami-Dade, Fl – Miami-Dade County residents can now benefit from a new and innovative library service that can ease the strain on their busy schedules. On July 5th, the Miami-Dade Public Library System will launch Borrow-by-Mail, a service that offers patrons the convenience of having books and other materials delivered to their homes. Patrons can get home late at night when libraries are closed and find their favorite novel, audio book or DVD in their mailbox.
For just $2 per item, the Library’s extensive collection of children, teen and adult materials can be reserved and requested through Borrow-by-Mail.
Among its benefits:
- Patrons can save time and gas.
- Materials can be requested from the convenience of a personal computer at any time of the day or night.
- Before the lending period’s expiration, materials can be mailed back or dropped off by patrons at their nearest library branch.
“It’s like the Library never closes,” says Library Director Raymond Santiago. “As patrons’ daily agendas become busier than ever, the Library is offering materials delivered straight to their mailboxes.”
