Miami-Dade Public Library Seeks Volunteers for Project L.E.A.D. (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade)
(Miami, May 14, 2008) – The Miami-Dade Public Library System is currently seeking volunteer tutors for Project L.E.A.D, (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade), a free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring program to assist adult learners with basic reading and writing skills. Tutors should be compassionate, flexible, and possess good reading skills. No prior experience is needed.
An orientation session will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the North Dade Regional Library. Interested parties are asked to bring a picture I.D. and social security card for required background check. A training workshop for volunteers will be held at the North Dade Regional Library, on Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
