Miami-Dade, Fl – Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez, Miami-Dade County Commissioners Dennis C. Moss, District 9 and Katy Sorenson, District 8 will break ground on the future Naranja Branch Library of the Miami-Dade Public Library System on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. The 15,000 square-foot facility, to be located at 14850 S.W. 280 Street, will house a collection of 30,000 books and materials and will offer an extensive line-up of programs in an inviting, state-of-the-art environment. Patrons will have access to the internet through 20 computer terminals and several portable laptops utilizing Wi-Fi technology. The Naranja Branch, the sixth of 10 libraries to be built as part of the Library System’s Capital Expansion Plan by 2011, is budgeted at a construction cost of $8 million and is expected to be completed in early 2009.
