Library to Host Informational Session
Miami, Fl January 21, 2004 - - On Friday, January 30th at 2:00 p.m., staff from the University of South Florida will be conducting an information session to introduce a new scholarship opportunity to obtain a Master's Degree in Library Studies. The program will be held in the Children's Workroom in the basement at the Main Library, 101 W. Flagler St. This event is open to the entire community, including those with Bachelor’s Degrees in other areas.
Library staff who are currently enrolled in, or are considering the MLS program at USF, are especially encouraged to make arrangements with their worksite to attend. The USF/MLS Scholarship will provide full tuition, made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Scholarship recipients must bring their course of study no later than May 2004.
If financial concerns hold some professionals back from becoming a librarian, they can attend and take this opportunity to learn more about the new scholarship. For more information or to RSVP, send an e-mail to Elyse Kennedy (kennedye@mdpls.org) or call Mercy Marrero at 305-375-1089. |
