MDPLS's Main Library to transform into Hogwarts Library on Saturday, July 30
– Free Midnight Release Party for the latest Harry Potter Book –
(Miami, FL – July 21, 2016) Attention wizards, witches and muggles! People of all ages are invited to join the Miami‑Dade Public Library System for a free, magical fun‑filled evening celebrating the release of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One & Two,” the eighth story of the Harry Potter series, on Saturday, July 30, from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the Main Library, 101 W. Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33130.
The library will be transformed into Hogwarts Library for the event where partygoers will enjoy Harry Potter themed entertainment, activities, games, crafts and more leading up to the official book release at midnight. The first 300 patrons who placed their book on hold using their library card may check it out at the party. At 11:45 p.m., the Goblet of Fire will be lit and tickets will be drawn giving an additional 300 patrons the opportunity to check out a copy during the party. One hundred books will also be available for purchase with proceeds going to Friends of the Miami‑Dade Public Library.

- See live animals during Zoo Miami’s Mythical Creatures Show
- Meet Hedwig’s cousins, barn owls Hera and Emrys in the Owlery presented by WingOver, Inc.
- Be mesmerized by a magic show
- Make magical crafts including wands, key chains and bookmarks
- Take a picture in our photo booth
- Test your Harry Potter knowledge in our trivia contest*
- Come dressed up and enter our costume contest*
- Watch a Harry Potter movie and munch on free popcorn
- Get sorted into your Hogwarts House and drink butterbeer
- Enjoy a meal from food truck vendors

Free event parking will be available in the Cultural Center Garage, 50 NW 2 Avenue, Miami, FL 33128, which connects to the Main Library via a covered walkway. ADA accessible.
