Young Artists Wanted for Library’s Bookmark Contest

(MIAMI, OCTOBER 15, 2013) – The Miami‑Dade Public Library is seeking budding young artists, 6‑12, to participate in its annual Make‑a‑Bookmark Contest. Children are encouraged to submit a drawing depicting the theme, Why I Love My Library? The contest runs from October 28 to November 16, 2013.

Contest entry must be original work and will be judged on creativity and neatness. One finalist will be chosen from each branch, and the grand prize winner will be selected from among these finalists.

The winning design will be used on the library’s official bookmark for 2014, and the winner will also receive a large basket of art supplies and a certificate of recognition from the Miami Dolphins.

Entry forms are available at all branches or by download. Final date for submission is Saturday, November 16.

The Bookmark Contest is made possible with the support of the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the Friends of the Miami‑Dade Public Library.
