Miami-Dade Public Library System

The Allapattah Branch Library was the first branch organized by the Library Board of the Miami Public Library System. This small 5,500 square-foot neighborhood branch has moved three times since its initial opening, and is now in a location selected in 1963. The surrounding neighborhood is a diverse community with two high schools and several elementary schools. In addition to housing a 15,000 item collection of varied books and materials, the library has expanded to include the latest in technology, including access to the Internet. Allapattah Library is conveniently located ten minutes east of Miami International Airport.
